In September 26, 2009, typhoon Ketsana (local name Ondoy) brought a month's worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby provinces in just a few hours - causing severe floods, resulting to the loss of many lives and displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.
Last October 7, 2009, DKSH Philippines conducted relief operations for the victims of the typhoon. With donations from our employees, we were able to raise money and distribute relief goods to 17 of our employees and 430 families in our neighboring communities who were all affected by the typhoon. The 430 relief packs for the communities were distributed by volunteer employees in three locations in Calamba (Bagong Kalsada, Socol, and Masili). We extend our heartfelt thanks to all employees who donated in cash or in kind, and helped in the repacking and distribution of the relief goods.
